It’s really happening! My old surf and garage band The Untamed Youth will be reuniting this weekend and next weekend for a pair of shows. I’m firing up the old Fender Showman and reverb unit and tuning up a new arsenal of Fiesta Red Fender guitars. We are getting ready to make a hell of a racket at these events:
Saturday July 27: Surf Guitar 101 Festival, Golden Sails Hotel, Long Beach, CA (SATURDAY NIGHT IS NOW SOLD OUT, tickets available for Friday and Sunday’s lineups)
Saturday August 3: Tiki Oasis, Town & Country Resort, San Diego, CA (I’ll also be performing with VENTURESMANIA on the 3rd and with myself and the Whippersnappers on Friday, Aug. 2!)
This lineup of the Youth consists of myself on guitar and vocals, Steve Mace (King of Men) on bass and vocals, Steve “Sammy” Rager on Farfisa organ and vocals, and everybody’s favorite drummer man, Chris “Sugarballs” Sprague on drums! In addition, for the SG101 festival, we will have two of our original go-go dancers, Jessica Daniel and Audrey Moorehead. Both can be seen dancing in our infamous 1990 It’s Happening TV show episode, and both of them are still looking and dancing GREAT!
If all this weren’t enough, the Untamed Youth will be recording a new full-length album in the week between the two shows! Can your heart stand this much reverb-drenched, beer-drinking, sun and surf FUN? We are ready to ROCK—hope to see you all at these two shows!!
