Burbank Garage Sales

Mar 21, 2026

Hitting some garage sales in Burbank with my daughter, and remembering what a treasure-filled suburb Burbank used to be before the internet and eBay and Antiques Roadshow and American Pickers ruined everything.

Burbank is still a pleasant little town, of course with astronomical housing prices. The junking is pretty thin, but my kid and I are having fun.

We even went to the old Handy Market and got tri-tip barbecue sandwiches. I remember when they first set up a little barbecue grill next to the grocery store and sold sandwiches on Saturday mornings. Now the Saturday BBQ thing has become so popular, they built a separate building for the barbecue next to the grocery store. The sandwiches are still delicious, though. Evelyn seems to be digging the whole experience, especially when she finds a bunch of clothes that fit her for a dollar each.

I miss living in Burbank, it’s a special place. However, I just drove by my old house at 800 North Keystone street, which was 740 square feet! I’m not sure how I lived and played music and recorded and hoarded junk in a place that small, but I did!
