I’m so excited about this new Untamed Youth album! This morning, Tony Andreason of the Trashmen overdubbed a guitar solo on a Trashmen-inspired version we cut of the Jerry Lee Lewis song “I’m on Fire.” So exciting! If you had told eighteen-year-old me when we first formed the Untamed Youth that someday we would be recording an album with guest appearances by Tony Andreason of the Trashmen AND Chris Montez, I probably would’ve fainted! And I definitely would not have believed you! Talk about coming full circle.
Thanks again Tony for doing this, and big thanks also to recording engineer Tom Herbers. I should mention this overdub was done at the very same recording studio (formerly Kay Bank) where the Trashmen recorded “Surfin’ Bird” in 1963! MIND BLOWN!
