Who was Johnny Knight, you might ask? Well, he was THE coolest 1950s rock ’n’ roll guy I ever met.

It’s been over a week since I learned of Dexter Romweber’s passing. What a gut punch that was. Dex was an outsider artist, a true genius who worked the outer margins of this behemoth known as the music biz.

Mojo Nixon has always been a hero and inspiration to me. Friday I started watching a bunch of Mojo videos on YouTube and the idea came to me to do a tribute song. By Friday night it was written.

I decided to pull out some of my absolute favorite country album covers to share with you. These are the creme-de-la-creme, the blue-ribbon trophy winners, the gold bullion of country music album cover design.

If you want to get a fancy vintage-style Western suit made, there’s no easy method. You have to put in the work. Especially if you’re really, really picky about details, as I am.

Jerry Case, the former Texas Playboy and jazz guitarist, came over to my house recently and we shot a big interview about his long career and did some picking, too.
