I am heading to Nashville this weekend to be part of a special event: Kyle Eldridge will be receiving his new doubleneck TNM Custom guitar from Terry McArthur (Jody Maphis is going to be there, too!).
I am writing an article about Kyle and the new doubleneck for Fretboard Journal, an article that will talk about Joe Maphis, Larry Collins, the unique and hyper-niche world of Mosrite doublenecks, and Terry McArthur’s singular ability to build these majestic instruments in modern times.
I’m going to be hanging with Jim Herrington, as he will be taking the photos for this article. I know that we will be taking the new doubleneck down to the Dale Watson show on Saturday night at 3rd and Lindley, so maybe I’ll see some of you there. Is there anything going on in town on Sunday (I know it’s Easter Sunday, but maybe there will be something happening)?
It’ll be a very short trip, but I am looking forward to being in Nashville and seeing some of y’all!
Congratulations to Kyle Eldridge, and all the people who donated to the GoFundMe campaign to make this guitar a possibility. He really is the ONLY human on planet Earth who is carrying forward the Joe Maphis guitar style into the future. He has needed this guitar for a long time, and I’m glad that it has finally come to fruition!
