The adventures of Deke Quixote Dickerson y Pedro de Madrid, Day 11:
We bravely fought some windmill giants. There were more than we could kill, but we did our best, and that is what counts.
We also traveled to the mountain village of Borja to see one of the most famous pieces of art in Spain: the Ecce Homo, located inside a sixteenth-century church.
If you are unfamiliar with the legend of the Ecce Homo, there was a nineteenth-century fresco of Christ on the wall. In 2012, it was restored by an elderly woman at the church. Her “improvement” became a worldwide sensation, and people traveled from around the world to see it.
I bought an Ecce Homo mug at the gift shop. The woman running the museum commented, “Coffee tastes better when you drink from it.” Indeed.
Pedro and I are continuing to Logroño, where tonight I play the Stereo Rock and Roll Bar. This will be the first show on the tour with an opening band; Lord Rochester are playing before me. See you tonight in Logroño!
