Jon Spencer with Deke!
Jon Spencer came to Deke’s recording studio a few months ago and recorded a few songs. He also asked Deke to join in and play guitar on these recordings. This single has two sides, both titled “Come On.” The A-side is a Stooges-meet-MC5 political anthem, and the B-side is a remake of Wynn Stewart’s 1950’s rockabilly song also called “Come On.” The single comes on black vinyl in a plain white paper sleeve—perfect for jukeboxes!

RIP Sly Stone
Eventually I realized that all my previous prejudices against music from the 1970s were incorrect; there was great music in the 1970s and bad music in the 1970s, and Sly Stone was absolutely the turning point in that personal realization.
“Ridin’ with the Devil” Video Shoot
The Whippersnappers and I recently recorded a batch of new hot-rod-themed songs for an upcoming EP, and yesterday we shot a video for a song I wrote called “Ridin’ with the Devil (Goin’ Fast as I Can Go).”
